| Bio: |  Name: Terrance Matthias Boot Age: 27 History: Bloodline: Muggleborn Family: “Question everything,” said Matthias Boot, and the young boy without a mother did just as his only parent said. “Why?” Matthias Boot had plenty of strong arguments for the questioning of everything, but the one he decided to use ended up being simply: “Because you can.” This was how Terrance was raised, to question whatever life threw at him and try to over-turn the status quo. His father raised him in a very casual manner that had him questioned by nosy neighbors who found the man’s parenting skills terribly odd. Of course, without a woman there, due to the passing away of the Mrs. Boot only five years after Terrance’s birth, it was only to be expected that Terrance would be raised slightly different than other children who did have their mothers. The boys learned to cook together, learned how to keep a house clean together, everything was done together. Matthias wasn’t quite as normal as most would assume by his appearance (a suit and tie to work at a software company, he was a working class man) because he had interests in off the wall things. Cult classic movies, indie bands, the arts, dancing, anything creative, which was what attracted him to Tory, Terry’s mother and an artist. When she passed away, Matthias didn’t mourn the same as other husband’s might’ve in his place. He and five year old Terry painted the house in bright colors and he told his son, “Question everything. Even death.” Childhood: Why had Tory Boot died? Was it okay to feel at peace with her passing? Why didn’t he cry more about her being gone? Yes, at a very young age, Terry began his descent into that Ravenclaw mindset. He took to art the same way his father, but also to the written word the way his mother used to be. He read anything and everything, taught himself how to fix cars at the age of nine, managed to figure out how to fix the plumbing by age ten. By eleven, the child genius’ life got flipped, turned upside down And Id like to take a minute just sit right there Ill tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel-air (Lmao kidding, sorry, it sort of just happened.. going on..) when he received his letter from Hogwarts. First thing he did was question it, and it was lucky for him that his father had an answer to his questioning. “I never thought... well.. it is in our family. Your great-great grandfather was a Wizard, Terry. On my side. Only one of the family, he went to that school. My family has always been open to that world introduced to us by your great great grandfather, but no one else yet has been accepted. You should go. But it’s up to you, if you want to do regular scho” “NO, I WANT TO GO.” And it was settled. Education: It took the hat barely ten seconds before it sorted Terry into Ravenclaw. Being that he was a rather extroverted boy, Terry took to making friends very easily, and in particular with Michael Corner. His skills in magic came easily to him. He hardly had to try when it came to such things as History of Magic, Runes, Arithmancy, Potions, Charms. He had a tiny bit of trouble with Transfiguration and the slightest of troubles in DADA, especially when Umbridge came about. It was with a great zeal and eagerness that Terry joined the D.A. after hearing about it from Michael. He showed a desire to learn everything he could from Harry Potter and in that group he formed strong bonds of friendship with many people, in his house and outside. He had always questioned the logic behind the argument for Purebloods being better, being that he was a muggleborn himself, and so it was no surprise that he took up arms against anyone who sided with the Dark Lord. In particular, he was very much prone to talking out against the Carrows in his seventh year and he started a few fist fights with Slytherins before shacking up with the D.A. and others in the ROR. He battled fiercely in the Battle of Hogwarts, got his arm broken in three places because of it, and still retains he’d break every bone in his body before letting the bad guys win that fight. Now Terry works at Quality Quidditch Supplies and has been for three years. His specialty is with the charming of brooms and making handmade brooms in a workshop in the back. Terry excels at his craft and is often sought out by professional players who need work done on their brooms. He’s also fairly interested in the idea of broom racing, though his ideas are often shot down by Ministry officials who say street broom racing can be too dangerous to do in Wizarding streets and too obvious in muggle streets. Personality: Hardcore. He’s an extreme kind of guy who has a love for adrenaline rushes, reading, muggle and wizard oddities and art. His love for these things is obvious in the way he talks and behaves, for Terry is a very loud sort of boy. Not terribly hyperactive, but he does not often back down from debates, he finds himself constantly holding conversations on just about anything for the sake of learning something new, and he loves meeting new people. He’s got a very slight temper problem when provoked and has gotten into quite a bit of trouble for mouthing off to rude people, mostly those who act stuck up and snobby. He tends to be a very honest boy and this also leads him to telling people what they don’t want to hear even when it’s the truth. His appearance is that of a man who likes to experiment with different looks. He has two lip piercings, a nose piercing, three ear piercings and an eyebrow piercing. Sometimes he conceals these, sometimes he wears strange and colorful hoops and bars in his piercings. He plays with beauty charms as if he were a thirteen year old witch. One day his hair will be clean, cut short and the next it’ll be blue dreadlocks. He envies the likes of Nymphadora Tonks who can change her appearance at will, but he is a firm believer that with tons fo practice he can achieve the same ability in the years to come. For now, he simply uses his wand to do all the charms on himself, and though his hair, eye color, piercings and clothing might change, he’s still the same Terry Boot in personality.
